Ever notice how hard it is to make good, healthy food while on a very, very strict budget? Yeah, me too. Both my partner and I have extremely tight wallets, but we love our food … and even more, we love good, healthy food.
So, I’ve decided to do some research. And it all started with a book. A book by Antoni Porowski – Antoni in the Kitchen, to be precise. I’ve loved him since first seeing him in Queer Eye. He’s a fellow Canadian, and as I have discovered lately, his family and my family were close in countries. His is from Poland, and mine is from the Ukraine.
I’ve been researching a lot about my family lately, as I had thought I had roots in Belarus, or Germany. But thanks to my Auntie Joyce, she discovered we are actually from Volhynia Ukraine. So there will be more research done there, mark my words.
Anyhow, I’ve decided to see about researching how to make traditional good and healthy Ukrainian food on less than a shoestring budget. Yes, I will still be yarning, but I do want to see about helping people find good food for good money.
I will be starting this new research in June, when I’m back from a trip with my Mum. So look for the tag: good food, healthy food, fun food. You’ll not miss any posts from there.
Until then, stay safe, stay warm and stay happy.
